Mein Tod Mein Tod Terence Koh

Press release
Peres Projects is very pleased to present the first German solo exhibition of Terence Koh entitled Mein Tod, Mein Tod. Koh will present one new sculpture with a ceremony.

Terence Koh's work (sculptures, installations, performances, and artist books) address the beauty and sublime transcendence of emptiness, the intertwining of all realms of life and death, and the constellations of dark matter that create the isolate worlds in which we live.

For his Berlin debut, Koh will present a single sculpture, in the form of a life sized white marble tombstone, made entirely as an edible cake. The sculpture is presented beneath a large hole in the ceiling, leaving the "tombstone" exposed to natural elements. At exactly 9 pm, on September 29th, Koh will present a funerary ritual with 2 priests and a group of choir boys, all dressed and/or covered in white paint, singing to the tombstone that marks the life and death of Terence Koh. A celebratory banquet consisting of 7 courses of funereal food, all white in color, will terminate the ritual. The ceremony ends "when we die."
