“THE INFLATABLE APPEARANCE IS A WAY TO DEPICT OUR VULNERABLE NATURE – JUST A MOMENTARY PINPRICK IS ENOUGH SOMETIMES TO DESTROY. SO, FOR ME, IT’S ALL ABOUT SELF-COGNITION AND INTERACTIONS: ALL THE FIGURES, LIKE BALLOONS, ARE FLOATING IN THEIR OWN PENSIVE UNIVERSE.”
- AKS MISYUTA
Aks Misyuta (b. 1984 in Bryansk, Russia) sculpture-like forms transport us into realms where the boundaries of possibility blur, where enigmas and invented scenarios reign supreme. Within these forms, figures emerge, seemingly hewn from solid substance, their unmistakable presence immediately arresting. Though not born from the mold of real-life individuals, these figures serve as manifestations of self-exploration, capturing the intricate web of psychological nuances that enshroud their subjects.
