Peres Projects is pleased to announce the second solo exhibition of Harm Gerdes (b. 1994 in Darmstadt, DE) at the gallery in Berlin.
More information will be available soon.
Harm Gerdes graduated, in 2020, from the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf. Gerdes’ paintings are abstract studies of color, composition and materiality. Viewed from a distance or digitally, they appear almost like exports from the latest, super high bit video games. Upon closer view, we see both the artist’s hand as well as the unpredictable spontaneity of the materials he employs. In his work, the contemporary hyper-real digital realm we all inhabit becomes real, tangible and tactile. He is currently participating in group exhibitions at Tiroler Landesmuseen, Innsbruck and Meyer Riegger, Karlsruhe. Later this year Gerdes will present his second solo exhibition at Peres Projects.
