Because of her participation in the Swatch Peace Hotel residency program, Ziping Wang spent Chinese New Year in Shanghai. On New Year's Eve, the Huangpu River outside her window was quieter than she had imagined, with no light show or dazzling fireworks. Meanwhile, her first solo exhibition, The Loudest Silence, was on view at Peres Projects' gallery space in Seoul, South Korea. During the days of the Spring Festival, Wang has painted a piece that made her delighted: "It should push my creative work further than before. I can't say for sure now, I need some time to let it settle and organize myself a bit."
