Peres Projects is pleased to announce Keith Boadwee: New Works.
 
For his first majour solo exhibition in Los Angeles since 1997, Keith Boadwee presents 10 new photographs and a suite of new drawings. From the early to the mid 1990s, Keith Boadwee was a central figure of the Los Angeles art scene where he was best known for making “enema paintings”. His recent works continue to deal with subject matter ranging from performance art, historical art figures, queer art practices, and others while primarily documenting a series of new actions.
 
Keith Boadwee (b. 1961, lives/works in Emeryville, California) completed his BFA at UCLA in 1989. He has had solo exhibitons at Stux Gallery (NY), Kim Light Gallery and Ace Gallery (Los Angeles). His work has been featured in numerous important group exhibitions including “Slittamenti” curated by Christian Leigh in the 1993 Venice Biennale; “Bad Girls” curated by Marsha Tucker at The New Museum of Contemporary Art (NYC); “Museum of Contemporary Art Portfolio Exhibition” curated by Cindy Sherman; Bay Area Now # 3 at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts (San Francisco); and, is currently showing in “Grey Area” curated by Matthew Higgs at the California College of Art (San Francisco). His work is in numerous private and public collections and has been reviewed in Art Forum , The Los Angeles Times, Art Issues, Art in America and various other publications.
 
New Works by Keith Boadwee will be on view at Peres Projects, Los Angeles (969 Chung King Road, Los Angeles, CA 90012) through March 27, 2004. Hours: Wednesday through Saturday, from 12:00 A.M. to 6:00 P.M and by appointment.
